About Me

Gila Bensason Namer has over 15 years of dancing experience and started practicing Pilates twenty years ago as part of her dancing training. The method of Pilates became her key element to maintain a healthier and peaceful lifestyle on an everyday basis. She completed her Pilates Instructor Training certified by Pilates Method Alliance in 2009 in Istanbul, Turkey. She is qualified to teach Matwork, Reformer, Tower, Stability Chair as well as Prenatal Pilates.

She taught in two major studios in Istanbul, Turkey prior to launching her own studio in Dublin, Ireland. Gila has been able to teach a wide variety of students ranging from dancers and seniors to patients with scoliosis and obesity. She also regularly gave matwork classes to groups and individuals and ran courses at a high school.

Currently, she's offering private reformer and matwork classes in Union City, NJ at her home-studio.

Her understanding of the Pilates method 'Contrology'  is that it offers the person to teach oneself how to make peace with body for a lifetime.
When teaching pilates, she creates her own style by combining similar approaches that give a sense of well-being and awareness. As she has a deep interest for wellness, healthy living and relaxation, she loves to bring together the teachings of yoga, meditation and aromatherapy in her classes.

Gila keeps peace with her body and mind by doing yoga, reading and oil-painting.
